Weekly Activities
Explore what’s going on at the Island Community Center. We are pleased to offer the following community programs on a regular basis. We are always eager to add more activities and events for the community to participate in.

Alcoholics Anonymous
Saturdays, 6-7pm | Café
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings are held every Saturday evening in the café. Walk-ins are welcome! 24-hour helpline: 207-479-1779

Board game Night
Wednesdays, 6-9pm | Cafe
Join host Jordan Ramsey for weekly game night for all ages (children must be accompanied by adults). Jordan has a variety of games to choose from each week. Participants are encouraged to bring their own games to share with the group. The night will start with a fun group game that everyone can play and then break into smaller groups based on personal interests. No need to register – just come have some traditional fun. Bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Coffee Connections
Tuesdays, 9-10am | Cafe
We’ll have the coffee on! Come enjoy fellow community members and enjoy a free cup of coffee in the Café. We invite all ages to join in the conversation.

community Walking
Mon. – Thurs., 9-11am | Gymnasium
We offer our gym as a flat and even surface for walking. We welcome you to come get some exercise in a safe and warm environment. 22 laps around the gym perimeter is a mile! Community walking is free and open to anyone.

Farmers’ Market
Fridays, 10am-12pm | Parking Lot
The Stonington Farmers’ and Artists’ Market is held outdoors in the parking lot of the Island Community Center every Friday from Memorial Day weekend through the last Friday in September.

Island Food Pantry
Thursday, 4:30-6:30pm | Food Pantry
The Island Food Pantry, an independent nonprofit organization located in the basement of the Island Community Center, provides food for those in need. They are closed the 5th Thursday of the month. For information, contact Kathy Gray: 207-460-1779

Mommy & Me Playgroup
Mondays, 10:30-11:30am | Gymnasium
Bring your toddlers and we provide the toys. Let your kids have fun running around the gymnasium with friends while you talk with other moms. During summer months the group may venture outside to the playground.

Pickleball
Wednesdays, 3:30-6pm | Gymnasium
Pickleball is a cross between tennis, ping pong, and racquetball that is sweeping the nation. Enjoy different levels of experience! Beginners play from 3:30 – 4:30 pm while Group A (recreational level group) plays from 4:30 – 6 pm. For information, contact Katy Helman: 207-348-9489
Note: During nice weather, Pickleball takes place outside at the school tennis courts in Deer Isle. Please inquire about the exact location before attending.

Ping pong
Wednesdays, 6-7pm | Greenlaw Room
Come down for ping pong in the Greenlaw Room. The Island Community Center provides the table, paddles, and ping pong balls. Bring a friend to play with!

Senior Exercise Class
Thursdays, 11am | Cafe
Join instructor Kathy O’Rourke for 40 minutes of breathing, movement, and stretching. This class is specifically geared towards aging residents of most activity levels. Accommodations can be made for those who need to sit for the duration.
Suggested donation
The majority of our programs (unless otherwise noted) require a $3 donation per participant. This donation helps to offset the heating and electrical costs required to operate the building. Our goal is to provide programming that is accessible to all. If cost is a barrier to participation, please contact us.
